Postal is a crazy first-person shooter

Postal is an isometric shooter computer game developed by the independent studio Running With Scissors and published by Ripcord Games. The game was released on November 14, 1997 on Windows. On April 10, 2015, the game was released on Android.

Plot
One sunny morning, Dude begins to think that all people are infected, which can infect him and out of fear, Dude decides that it’s all the fault of the Airbase, because it is because of the military in this city more and more infected, so he decides to go outside and walking around the locations to kill aggressors and civilians (depends on the player). Eventually the Dude makes it to the military airbase, killing everyone, he goes to the school to kill the children, but his weapon is ineffective against them and he loses consciousness. He wakes up in an asylum where the professor tells him that he’s a patient (the Dude) deserves to call himself a hero and that he’ll have plenty of time to study the subject, but in a short time the Dude manages to escape from there (you can find that out at the end of the credits). The End. On the loading screens of each level, date inscriptions appear, the Dude kept a diary in which he took notes before committing another massacre.

Gameplay
The game has a story, but it’s impossible to understand it after the first playthrough. there are no cutscenes (except for the end of the game). The whole game is about the Dude (the player) killing all the townspeople, cops, bandits, etc.

Development
The game was developed by Running With Scissors studio since its foundation. The game was developed with their own money, without any investors.

Extras:

A year later, in 1998 Running With Scissors released the official expansion for the game called “Special Delivery”, which added several new locations and new characters. Sound design and game mode were also updated.

In 2001, RWS along with Softek International Inc. and Loki Software inc. released a game called Postal Plus, which added everything that had been cut from the original game.
