All of the Life is Strange games are one huge masterpiece and interwoven world from which you don’t want to return to reality when the last episode ends.
At the moment, there are three parts to the series. The first one is called Life is Strange. We get to play as a girl with a boyish name, Max, who has the superpower, to rewind time. Agree, have you always wanted to go back to the not-too-distant past to correct some act or phrase? Who wouldn’t. But, as they say, there’s a nuance. When you change the past, you change the present. And the present may not always be rosy, even if you did everything right in the past. Let’s not spoil, but the last choice in the game will be insanely difficult and the outcome of that very present will depend on it.
The second part is called Before The Storm and it is a spin-off to the first game. Here the main character becomes Chloe, Max’s friend, and Rachel, who was paid a lot of attention in the first part, but her personality was not revealed. There will be no superpowers, Chloe’s only power will be… The power of profanity? The girl is masterful at putting down her opponents and getting what she wants. Agree, this is also a kind of power. In the game you’ll have to make a lot of choices again, which will further change the story, which once again confirms that LiS is partly an interactive movie, not just a game.
For the third game in the Life is Strange series, the developers took an unconventional approach and released a short episode to the upcoming project that was also a standalone game, The Awesome Adventures Of Captain Spirit. In it, we play as a boy named Chris who lives with his single father. In the past the father was an athlete, but now he is addicted to alcohol. The boy has no friends, so what else is he supposed to do? Imagine he’s a superhero!
Once again, we continue to wander through the proposed locations and either complete the main quest or explore all around like real trailblazers. The game is insanely cute and is literally passed in an hour. And the developers promised that the actions performed in it will affect the next games. Well, we’ll see!
The last, at the moment, part of this series is Life is Strange 2. Familiar to us from the first parts Chloe and Max we won’t meet here, but we will get acquainted with two brothers, and we will have to live through their story. Again lot of decisions, unexpected turns and mystics – that’s why many people liked this series so much.
A distinctive feature of the Life is Strange universe, as it has been already said, is the possibility to be not so distracted by the gameplay, but to watch the events development, as if you are not playing, but watching a fascinating series where you can influence the events. And yes, be sure to pay attention to the various little things, perhaps they will help you unlock all the achieves!
